Our residency at Tavistock Square on Portobello Road is the perfect spot for artists and art lovers to buy, sell, and connect.
The Open Art Market is all about bringing the community together through creativity, with a focus on keeping things accessible. No experience? No problem—our friendly team is here to help you get started.
To keep things fair, our markets are application-only. We have limited stalls and lots of interest, so while we can’t promise everyone a spot, we do host Markets often, and we’d love for you to continue to apply.
On Market Days, you’ll find up to 28 stalls, beginner-friendly creative workshops, and pop-up live music.

Open Art Markets are filled with new and emerging Artists from a diverse range of creative backgrounds. We give equal opportunity to all our applicants and keep a regular rotation to ensure there's space for everyone.

How much is it to apply?
Applying to the Open Art Market is free! Stall fees vary depending on the location and will always be detailed on the application form. Please note Open Art Spaces does not take any commission from sales. All earnings are yours to keep.
how big is the stall?
Our iconic stripy stalls are covered and measure 6ft (180cm) wide by 4ft (120cm) deep.
can i book half a stall?
Yes! If 3ft (90cm) is enough space for your needs, simply select the 'half stall' option on the application form and we'll pair you with another artist.
Can i customise my stall?
Absolutely! Artists can hang work using the stall’s bars or bring stands to create a display. Feel free to bring your personality to the space and make it uniquely yours.
what's included in the stall fee?

how do i apply?
You’ll need to submit an application via our online form. Stay informed about upcoming application rounds by subscribing to our newsletter or following us on Instagram.
Can i share a stall with my friend?
Yes! You’re welcome to share your stall with another artist. Select the 'FULL' stall option when you apply and make sure to include all artist's details in your application.
Are there any pricing guidelines?
We encourage artists to offer work at a range of price points. Accessibility is a key value for us, so we recommend keeping most items priced under £150 on Portobello.
